What you share with us
When you use this tool, you may share:
- Your questions, and whatever you say about your health situation.
- The "About me" details, if you fill them in — your condition, where you live, your age, and any diet or movement preferences.
- The language you want answers in.
None of it is required. The chat works without the profile; the answers are just more specific when it's filled in.
Where your "About me" details live
The profile is stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers. It is sent along with each question so the helpers can use it, and it is forgotten server-side when your conversation expires. "Clear everything" in the panel deletes it from your browser.
What we do with it
While a question is being researched, what you wrote is sent to:
- The AI service (OpenRouter, Google Gemini, or OpenAI, depending on how the app is configured) so the helpers can reason about it.
- Search and retrieval APIs so the helpers can find sources: PubMed, Europe PMC, Semantic Scholar, ClinicalTrials.gov, and a web-search API restricted to an allowlist of trusted patient-facing health sites.
Searches are sent as extracted concepts — "heart failure sodium limit", not your personal narrative.
We restrict which AI providers can see your question. Requests are pinned to providers with a zero-data-retention policy, which do not keep your text after answering and do not train on it. Providers that retain data are refused, even when they are cheaper.
How long it is kept
Your conversation lives in the server's memory only. It is automatically deleted after about two hours of inactivity (a one-shot consult, after about 30 minutes). We do not write it to a database.
We do not log the content of what you shared. Not your questions, not the answers, and not the search terms built from them. Our server logs record only timings and counts — how long a question took to research and how many sources were used — with the text itself replaced before it is ever written down.
What you should still be careful about
- Please don't include your full name, address, phone number, insurance or ID numbers, or your medical record number. Nothing here needs them.
- If you copy or print an answer and share it, it may contain details about your health. Share carefully.
- On a shared or family computer, the page text may remain in browser history, and the "About me" profile stays in that browser until you clear it.
- This tool uses third-party AI and search services. Those services have their own privacy policies — please review them if that matters to you.
What we don't do
- We do not have access to your medical records.
- We do not create an account or ask you to log in.
- We do not share your information with advertisers, and we do not sell it.
- We do not use what you write to train AI models ourselves.
